Young contemporary artist Yanni, also known as Cryptus Minimus, has been painting with his hands since he was 13 years old. Yanni draws inspiration for his artistic endeavors from his love and admiration for his father as well as his enduring adoration for the rock bands Kaleo, Joe Satriani, and Scorpions. Yanni was given the diagnosis of Type 1 Diabetes (T1D) on December 17th, 2017. T1D affects 1.6 million people in the US alone. Yanni experiences a variety of symptoms, some of which include quenching thirst, excessive hunger, and unintentional weight loss. Despite having T1D health issues, Yanni portrays his difficulties through his work, which upholds his upbeat demeanor and zest for life. Acrylic paint and occasionally watercolor are used by Yanni.
